  • 20:38 According to @CaliLewis the iPad will allow you to pair a Bluetooth keyboard with it. So if you've got one, no need for the Kbd Dock. w00t! #

  • 10:18 Mac Tablet Netbook Thingie!!! #
  • 10:23 I'm still not fully behind the iPad name. Sounds like either a feminine hygiene product or something that a Pirate would wear. Arrrr!!! #
  • 10:28 OK Steve, hurry up, out with it... 1. When? and 2. How much? #
  • 10:32 OK, so it really *is* like a super-sized iPhone... 30 pin dock connector and all #
  • 10:34 Will this replace my MacBook? MAYBE if it accepted a bluetooth kbd. But b/c it (apparently) doesn't run real Mac OS X is a big deal breaker. #
  • 10:37 But will it replace my iPod touch? That would be a definite... maybe. Features are nice, but I'd miss the easy pocketability of the touch. #
  • 10:44 Will this replace my Kindle? Maybe, but a stronger maybe. If Amazon updates Kindle app and someone does a *good* PDF reader, then HELL YEAH! #
  • 10:45 I was VERY disappointed with Kindle DX's PDF handling. IF the iPad has a decent PDF reader on it, then my DX is going up on eBay TONIGHT. #
  • 10:59 They use ePub. Oh baby... #
  • 11:04 Here's my worry: Amazon updates Kindle app to take advantage of iPad screen etc... then Apple cooks up a reason to block it from App Store.. #
  • 11:08 iWork on the iPad looks pretty iMazing. (Sorry, that was lame, I know. And a stretch, grammatically speaking.) #
  • 11:15 250 MB data cap. Boo, hiss. Unlmited for $30. But is it REALLY "unlimited"? (My guess is no. :P) #
  • 11:16 AT&T: bad. No contract: GOOD. Self-activation: GOOD. Not sure if the goods outweigh the bad (AT&T) tho. Wish it were Verizon or Sprint... #
  • 11:19 $499. HOLY CRAP. #
  • 11:22 Keyboard dock. SOLD!!! #
  • 11:22 @starmike If someone makes a good PDF viewer for the iPad, then my Kindle DX is going up on eBay *tonight*. #
  • 11:23 @extralife $499!!! Four-frickin'-ninety-nine!!! #
  • 11:24 $499!!! Four-FRICKIN'-ninety-nine!!!!!!!!!!111 #
  • 11:36 @kafox9 For me, killer app is PDF rendering. Kindle DX's PDF handling really disappointed me. if iPad's is better, my DX is going on eBay. #
  • 11:46 @kafox9 iPad sonds too much like a feminine hygiene product for geek girls. Or something a Pirate Bay user might wear. #
  • 12:07 And so it begins. The long wait for the video podcast version of today's SteveNote to show up. #
  • 13:25 @fabsh um, *all* iTunes music is now drm-free. I have a feeling that video is only a matter of time. #
  • 13:45 @happysphere if I were to get one then that's what I'd get... because I have the mifi!! bwahahah!! ;-) #
  • 13:46 @fabsh ipr0n!! #
  • 16:37 Yay, Bluetooth voice dialing now works in the new Samsung Moment firmware. #

  • 14:44 Extremely irritated that Firefox doesn't support HTML5 H.264 video. FOSS is fine, but in cases like this idealism is counter-productive. #

  • 10:26 Just dropped my phone off @ Sprint for firmware upgrade. FYI I'll be out of touch for the next 2 hrs or so. #
  • 14:10 Unorthodox use #115 for a laptop: really huge, bulky external battery pack for a cell phone. #

Yes, it's an actual real boog posting from me. Amazing, isn't it? In all honesty things have been pretty hectic around these parts, and between work and various personal crises, I haven't had much time to do much of anything personal. When I do have time I've been mostly focusing on my Anime podcast, Otaku no Podcast, which is finally starting to take off. Also I've been revamping my personal website DonaldBurr.com - basically I'm turning it into my "main site" with information about me, my resume, links to everything I do online, and even a tech blog. You know, the kind of website you'd put on a business card or something.

Anyway, I recently did have some time to kill, and a new lavalier mic for my video camera to play with, and so I decided to shoot a little cooking video. On the podcast I recently mentioned that one thing I like to do when watching anime with friends is to make a big pot of rice and stuff inari sushi - a tasty treat that does not involve raw fish at all. So I decided to demonstrate how said dish is made. I'll admit I got a little carried away with the cheesy special effects, but I'm still pretty proud of it. Check it out in all its embeddable glory below!
